We’re over halfway through February and there’s loads to look forward to in Portishead.
Firstly, after a twenty year campaign, ground will finally be broken to commence construction of the new skatepark in Portishead. Within days, Maverick will begin work on the skatepark which will be completed by the end of May. This is incredible news for our community, exciting for the young and older alike.

At SK8 or Die you’ll be seeing some changes. The halfpipe is gone. Sad, but we need the space. To be fair it was just being used as a huge dog bed and a slide for the unruly tots that came in with their bigger siblings. From now on we’ll be concentrating on providing only the best deals and recommended skate products. This is something we’ve been doing for the last year. What we’ve noticed is certain products are highly sought after. For example, Powell Peralta and Mini Logo complete skateboards. Both brands are in essence the same. The construction, bearing quality, artwork and the 90a mid-soft wheels make these skateboards the top recommendation for beginner skateboarders. Moreover, to seal the deal they’re on sale. Down from £90 to £60 for the Powell Peralta and £85 to £55 for the Mini Logo brand.

But you have to be quick…

The reason for this post is because there is a finite amount of these skateboards on sale. One of our most significant suppliers, Shiner, is parting ways with SkateOne the manufacturers of Powell Peralta, Bones and Mini Logo. This means once these great value skateboards are sold the deal will end. So if you’re considering a new skateboard to practice at the new skatepark this summer then now is the time to come see us. There are only a handful left of some styles, like the Powell Peralta Skull and Snake. There are only a couple left!
The Powell Peralta styles are more traditional in design with some of the original artwork going back to the 1980’s. Mini Logo boards offer plain designs. Choices include plain black, white and natural wood. Also, Mini Logo have Leopard and Peacock Feather designs and the popular fish tank/ coral artwork.

Both Powell and Mini Logo offer a variety of sizes from 7″ mini complete skateboards to 8.25″ wider skateboards for bigger kids and adults. 7″ to 7.75″ boards have the 90a softer wheels which are great for a smoother ride.
