Noon, Saturday 20th October 2018, Matt’s son Istas cut the ribbon to officially open Sk8 or Die. A great turnout, I doubt a slippery eel could have fit in the shop, it was that packed.
Most came fancying their chances in the raffle to win a Chilli scooter worth £200. Tickets sold well so we added a few more prizes – a Tony Hawk 360 skateboard and a couple of T-shirts (designed and printed by us in our underground lair).
A big thank you to everyone who came to support the opening. A very special thanks to Helen and Lottie Green of Oceans Cafe, Portishead who supplied some delicious wraps and cakes and thanks to Emily Richards for the lovely photos of the event.
Thanks also to Andy Byles for engraving a skateboard with our Baron. Check out his laser engraved artwork on his facebook page.
Will and Sam Jacklin, spent £20 on raffle tickets. Their nana wasn’t impressed, “You’re mum will go ape****, she said.”
“We just won’t tell her,” Sam reasoned.
The next day they came in with Pa and bought another twenty. Forty tickets, you’ve got to like those odds, right? Well they won it. Which one of the boys will take ownership of the scooter is still a moot point.
We’re still selling our child size ‘Mask’ tees for just £7, you can help us get our name out there!
More apparel and accessory designs on the way too, as well as more scooter and skateboard stock.
Be good to see you in store in the coming weeks leading up to Christmas.
