The phrase ‘shop local’ is often said and heard. As much as most of us want to do it sometimes those cheaper online prices or big chain offers are just too good to ignore.
At Sk8 or Die we maintain a ‘Recommended Retail Price’ which is a caveat from our suppliers. So effectively our prices are the same as any other retailer when no promotional offer is on.
We will price match! But we also like to offer great deals from time to time too.
Supporting local shops is not a one way street. The local shops – what’s all this shouting? – also support their customers much more than online retailers – we’ll have no trouble here.
You get to actually see and touch what you’re hoping to buy and you get advice right there and then in the shop. Walking away with a new purchase which costs no more than the online choice and you don’t have to wait in all day for the courier.
Local businesses will generally be proactive in the community.
Here at Sk8 or Die our efforts do not stop at selling skateboards and scooters. We engage with the community and explore new initiatives and ideas.
For example, in the next few months we are hoping to help establish a skate academy which provides skateboarding lessons to beginners.
We have been approached by local schools to donate to Christmas fetes, a couple of skateboards up for grabs there!
And of course – the new half-pipe ramp. We are really excited about this particular gift to the town.
You don’t see Amazon Jeff doing that for Portishead, do you?
Quite simply, the more you come in Sk8 or Die and buy from us the more we will give back to the community.
Thanks to those of you so far who have come in Sk8 or Die to buy birthday and Christmas presents and said to us you’re making an effort to do it locally this year. It is appreciated.
To those Amazon prime-a-donnas amongst you; We get it. But come and have a look anyway, you may be surprised how competitive we are.
Support local shops, because we support you!
